Clinical and Professional Services

Child Life and/or Therapy
for Kids, Teens, and Families

I provide individual, family, and group counseling services that address stress and anxiety management, coping, and communication in the context of acute or chronic illness, health challenges, anticipatory grief, and end of life/bereavement.

Common medical conditions include but are not limited to:
procedural or surgery preparation (medical and dental), cancer, food allergies, gastrointestinal diseases, diabetes, auto-immune disorders, and neurodegenerative diseases as well as generalized anxiety, trauma, and pain management.

Other Professional Services

I offer speaking, training, and content opportunities related to guiding children and parents when facing medical, grief, and every day life stress.

Individual and group clinical consultation and supervision opportunities are also available upon request and availability.

Guidance
for Parents & Caregivers

I provide consultation services specifically for parents looking for skills and strategies for how to talk with, support, and parent children facing medical, grief, and every day life challenges in the family. This service is usually shorter-term and focused on periodic and episodic education and guidance.

Guidance includes but is not limited to:
having difficult conversations with children about illness & death, maintaining normal aspects of growth, development, and parenting, improving family communication and behavior, and meaning making for significant dates & life experiences.

Creator and Author

I create interactive, hands-on workbooks to help teach and support children impacted by health and anxiety. Available topics include cancer as well as food allergies and immunotherapy (coming soon). Email me for discounted pricing on bulk orders for hospitals, clinics, or non-profits.

How it works and what to expect:

I once had a parent in the pediatric ICU tell me: “somehow you always knew exactly what we needed” and that stuck with me. I don’t pretend to know exactly what anyone needs but my expertise and experience helps me to: be present, listen first, assess a sensitive situation, and provide clear, simple suggestions, strategies, and resources that are helpful, responsive, and collaborative - in a safe supportive and trusting relationship.

I will always start with a brief phone call to learn about your needs, explain my services, and make a plan. Because my services involve counseling, consulting, and coaching parents and/or children - treatment length and structure will vary. I incorporate collaboration with parents, caregivers, and outside providers and environments regularly.
